The Success Behind Grayl's Water Filter

To filter out harmful substances, you need the finest of hollow fiber membranes, less than 1 micron in size. Most water filters today offer around 2 microns, which removes bacteria but not viruses. The challenge with using 1-micron-sized hollow fiber membranes is that the water becomes very difficult to press through. Grayl has ingeniously solved this issue. The design of Grayl Geopress and Grayl Geopress Ultralight allows you to use your body weight to press down the filter membrane in the water bottle, quickly and efficiently forcing the water through the filter.

Grayl Geopress purifies approximately 250 liters of water during the filter's lifespan. The filter part is easily replaced with a new one by simply unscrewing the bottom of the filter bottle and attaching a new one. A replacement filter lasts as long as the original filter.
